Information submitted directly
A name or location entered into a search tool is sent to the independent provider that operates that tool. Morgan County Busted Mugshots does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. Messages sent through a contact channel may include an email address and the information a visitor chooses to provide. Those messages are retained as needed to respond and are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Technical information and cookies
Like most sites, the service receives ordinary technical data when a page loads. Cookies help measure how pages perform and how visitors use the service. A browser may block cookies, though some features can then work differently.
- Internet protocol address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Referring site when one is supplied
- Access dates and times
How information is used
Collected information supports the operation and improvement of the service rather than an official records system.
- Maintain page delivery and diagnose technical problems
- Route a submitted query to the appropriate search partner
- Understand which local resource pages are useful
- Protect the site and investigate service problems
- Deliver advertising that may be relevant to a visitor’s interests
Links and external services
The site links to sheriff rosters, court and corrections pages, government portals, federal locators, and independent search services. Once a visitor selects an outside link, that organization’s privacy practices apply. Advertising partners may also collect activity across sites through their own systems; this site does not control those systems.
Who may receive data
Personal information is not sold. It may be processed or disclosed only in the limited situations below.
- Search partners that handle a submitted query
- Analytics providers that measure site performance
- Advertising networks that deliver ads
- Law-enforcement or government bodies responding to a valid legal demand
Security and minors
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information, but no internet-connected system can promise complete security. The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may request deletion through the contact page.
Your information choices
Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification, a visitor may ask to review, correct, delete, or limit use of personal information held by the site.
- Request a copy of available personal information
- Ask to correct an inaccurate detail
- Request deletion of information not required to be retained
- Object to certain processing where that right applies
